Network ColTris Screenshots.

NetColTris: Tetris with an ATTITUDE!  This was an early product that was being developed as a little side project to play around with DirectX (which was being called the "Game SDK" at that time).

Key Benefits

  •  Single and two-player modes (via a network)
  •  Traditional and NetColTris modes
    • Traditional mode plays like Tetris™
    • NetColTris mode allows you to play with additional pieces, The Bomb (seen above), and aging blocks (which age for a certain amount of time and then "die", removing themselves from the playfield)
  •  Additional bonus points for removing multiple rows at one time, removing multiple row consecutively, and some secret bonuses that you must figure out on your own(!)
  •  Two player modes include Race and Cutthroat:
    • Race mode allows players to race against each other to complete a certain number of lines, or get to a certain score
    • Cutthroat mode allows players to try to fill-up the others playfield (pushing them to the ceiling), by completing multiple rows, or obtaining bonuses
  •  Selectable MIDI or CD track background music, and custom sound effects

(If/When completed, this will be a freeware product.  This depends on if licensing is required, and the price for such a license.  Go to www.tetris.com/corporate/legal.html for more information about this issue.  Also, search the net for them to find information about things that they have done to other shareware/freeware authors that basically amount to "Scare Tactics".)

Original Tetris concept, design and program by Alexey Pajitnov.
